Using Trustly at UK Casinos: Fees and Payout Checks

Trustly is a Pay by Bank option in a casino cashier that lets you authorise a payment directly from your bank account. Before paying, check the casino's licensing, whether your bank is supported and how you will withdraw your money - accepting Trustly deposits does not guarantee Trustly withdrawals.

Check the casino, bank and account eligibility

In England, Scotland and Wales, check the casino's exact website address, legal operator and active remote casino licence against the Gambling Commission register. A Trustly logo is not evidence of a gambling licence. Northern Ireland differs: the Commission does not regulate remote gambling provision there, although advertising remote gambling to its consumers requires a Commission licence.

Trustly's UK terms require users to be at least 18 and prohibit corporate accounts and unlawful use. You must hold the bank account and use your own credentials. For a joint account, obtain any necessary co-holder consent and ask the casino whether it accepts that account before depositing.

Open the deposit and withdrawal tabs separately. The casino chooses which Trustly services it offers, while bank availability can depend on the merchant and transaction. Check your bank at the actual bank-selection screen rather than relying on a generic list of supported UK banks.

How a Trustly casino deposit moves

Start from the casino cashier, select Trustly and follow the prompts for the amount, bank and account. If the option says Pay by Bank, check which provider is named. Review the payment details, approve through your bank's authentication process, then return to the casino and wait for its confirmation. Never reuse bank details from an earlier Trustly payment to send money manually.

Trustly initiates the transfer; your bank executes it. After authorisation, funds usually leave your account or become reserved immediately, and Trustly tells the merchant when the bank confirms successful initiation. That notification means the payment is on its way, not that every subsequent processing step has finished.

Bank authentication and casino verification serve different purposes. The casino must verify your age and identity before gambling, including your name, address and date of birth. A successful bank login does not remove those obligations. Before depositing, read which documents the operator might require and how to provide them.

Separate service fees, payment limits and gambling limits

Trustly says it does not charge a payment service fee, but its help centre warns that currency conversion charges can apply. Banks and merchants may also charge separately. Check deposit and withdrawal costs independently, and confirm that your bank account, casino balance and requested payout use GBP if you want to avoid currency conversion.

There is no universal Trustly minimum or maximum payment amount. Your bank, the casino and Trustly's payment service can impose different limits. Check the cashier and terms for the amount you intend to send, rather than assuming a limit advertised elsewhere applies. Trustly Support cannot override a limit imposed on an individual payment.

Payment limits are separate from gambling-account controls. Current Gambling Commission rules require gross deposit limits covering 24 hours, seven days and one month, with a limit-setting prompt at registration or the first deposit. Gross limits count deposits without subtracting withdrawals, so a payout does not restore that allowance. Increases require at least a 24-hour cooling-off period and confirmation; reductions must normally take effect immediately.

How to request and track a withdrawal

Request a withdrawal inside the casino account, selecting Trustly only if it is offered for payouts. Follow the account-selection instructions and check the destination before confirming. If Trustly is absent, ask the operator which verified bank-transfer route is available and whether it requires the original depositing account. Do not assume a deposit automatically establishes your payout instructions.

Separate casino approval from payment transmission. The operator decides when to send the withdrawal request to Trustly; Trustly cannot transfer a request it has not received. Ask whether the withdrawal is merely approved internally or has actually been sent, and retain the amount, request date, payment reference and confirmation of dispatch.

Trustly's general guidance says withdrawals and refunds arrive within 72 hours in most countries. This is not a guaranteed UK casino deadline measured from pressing Withdraw. Bank processing can also delay an otherwise instant transfer. If money is missing, contact the casino first; once it confirms transmission through Trustly, contact Trustly with the supporting payment evidence.

Understand what can hold up a payout

A casino may need identification documents or bank statements to establish identity and legitimate sources of funds. Ask exactly what remains outstanding and submit it through the operator's secure process. Trustly also monitors payments and can request information or refuse transactions where its compliance requirements are not met.

Necessary checks do not give operators permission to postpone routine verification until withdrawal. Gambling Commission rules prohibit making a payout conditional on information the operator could reasonably have requested earlier. New legal obligations can still require further information at that stage. Ask the casino to explain both the requirement and why it arose now.

Keep bonus funds separate from your deposit balance. Wagering requirements must not prevent withdrawal of your own deposited money or winnings generated from it. Nor should a maximum-withdrawal term cap access to that balance. Check promotional eligibility before accepting a bonus, but challenge an instruction to gamble your cash deposit merely to release it.

Deal with failed payments, refunds and disputes

If a deposit fails, check your bank account before trying again. With no debit, the payment did not complete; an expired session, missing approval or temporary bank connection problem may explain it. Save the error screen and reference. Repeated attempts are not a sensible way to diagnose the problem.

If money was debited and the error appeared on Trustly's page before you returned to the casino, Trustly says it should return automatically within five banking days. Weekends and public holidays do not count. If the error appeared after returning to the casino, that specific failed-payment guidance does not apply. Keep proof showing the amount, date, account details and reference.

A Trustly bank payment does not use card-scheme chargeback. Once bank authorisation has occurred, you cannot ask Trustly to cancel the initiated payment; request a refund from the merchant or contact your bank as appropriate. Report suspected unauthorised use promptly to your bank and Trustly. Do not treat a refund process as protection against gambling losses.

For an unresolved casino payout dispute, use the operator's formal complaints procedure and retain its responses. An eligible dispute can go to its independent Alternative Dispute Resolution provider after eight weeks, or earlier following a final response or deadlock. The ADR service is free to the customer.

Respect credit restrictions and gambling blocks

Gambling Commission rules prohibit credit-card gambling payments, including through intermediaries. Operators must reject payments through money service businesses that have not prevented credit-card-funded gambling. Choosing a bank-payment button is not a reason to gamble with borrowed money; set your budget using money left after essential spending, not an available overdraft.

Trustly's own gambling-payment block is currently available only in Finland, not the UK. Ask your bank what its gambling block covers, specifically including Pay by Bank transfers rather than assuming card controls cover every route. Do not switch providers to work around a restriction intended to protect you.

GAMSTOP self-exclusion applies across participating online gambling businesses, independently of the payment method; Gambling Commission-licensed online casinos must participate. Keep your registered details current. If you are self-excluded and need an existing balance returned, contact the operator about repayment rather than trying to resume gambling or open another account.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Trustly account or app?

No. You do not need a separate Trustly account, password or app. You need an eligible personal bank account, access to your bank's authentication method and a casino offering the service. The casino may require its own account.

Are Trustly casino deposits and withdrawals free?

Do not assume the whole transaction is free. Trustly states that it charges no payment service fee, but currency conversion charges can apply, and your bank or casino may have separate charges. Check both sides of the cashier.

Why is my withdrawal pending after an instant deposit?

Deposits and withdrawals are separate operations. The casino controls when it submits the payout, and subsequent bank processing can take longer. Ask whether it has actually sent the payment through Trustly rather than merely approved your request.

Why does my bank not appear in Trustly?

Bank availability depends on the merchant and payment. A missing bank may be unsupported or temporarily unavailable. Trustly Support cannot manually add a bank to your transaction, so ask the casino about an appropriate alternative rather than using someone else's account.

Can I recover a Trustly deposit through chargeback?

Card-scheme chargeback is not the recovery route for a Trustly bank transfer. Ask the casino about a refund or your bank about an incorrect or unauthorised payment. Whether money can be recovered depends on what happened, not simply on having used Trustly.
